LUNEX

PODIUM sensorized floor

The PODIUM sensorized floor from BTS Bioengineering (Italy) is a high-end force measuring system to assess motor functions and train to improve performance via augmented reality. Merging two-views camera data and the 3D ground reaction forces data the PODIUM system is able to provide users with a real-time visual feedback based on an augmented reality approach.

Lecture room

Large expandable lecture room for 100-150 students

Practice room physiotherapy

This is one of the two physiotherapy practical rooms with a capacity for 20 active students.

Library and conference room

Table tennis XXL – if the big table in the LUNEX library had a name, this would be it, as it can accommodate far more than two to four “players”. Outside its opening hours, the library is used as a conference room. External partners can also join the live(ly!) discussions round this table via a modern video conferencing system.

Lecture room

50 seater lecture room on the southern side of the building

Staff kitchen

Cosy Staff kitchen with microwave, tea coffee, fridge.

The active electrode EEG system

The LUNEX sport and movement laboratory is equipped with three 64-channel electroencephalography (EEG) systems and one 64-channel EEG amplifier from Brain Products. EEG measures the brain's electrical activity from several positions on the surface of the scalp. It enables the identification of spontaneous and event-related brain activity markers that are associated with behavioural performance. EEG offers exceptionally high temporal resolution that allows brain activity to be examined in milliseconds.

The Vibra 3.0 system

Vibra is a selective mechanical-sound wave system for the non-invasive treatment of muscular and neuromuscular pathologies. It stimulates skin and muscles via selective vibratory stimuli generated at different controlled frequencies.

h/p/cosmos pulsar treadmill with Air Walk

The h/p/cosmos pulsar 3p has an integrated change of direction for downhill use and can be adjusted up to a speed of 40 km/h. This enables diagnoses and training with sprint and endurance athletes. The treadmill is also equipped with Air Walk that is used in neurological diagnosis and rehabilitation, thanks to its weight-relieving function and resulting balance protection.

BIOPAC System.

The BIOPAC enpowers our Academic staff in delivering hands-on physiology lessons. The students have the chance to collect signals and data directly from their body and test different physiological functions e.g. muscular, respiratory, cardiac, neurologic etc.

MicroFET 2 Wireless

The MicroFET (Force Evaluating & Testing) is an electronic ergonomically designed hand-held dynamometer which fits perfectly in the palm of the hand. It is used to test muscular force from different body segments under several functional conditions.

Research Pro IMU & Noraxon DTS

The portable movement detection system, "Research Pro IMU" from Noraxon (IMU = Inertial Measurement Unit), contains patented technology that allows highly accurate 3D movement measurements in a very confined space or on the playing field. The Noraxon DTS is a small, lightweight and efficient EMG system for recording and evaluating muscle functions under various motor conditions and settings, such as clinical examinations, competitive and recreational sport. The complete absence of cables enables the detection of EMG artefacts without any movement and means there are no obstructions when performing a wide range of motor tasks, from running sessions to tennis shots, for instance.

Practice room physiotherapy

This is one of the two physiotherapy practical rooms with a capacity for 20 active students.

“G-Walk”: functional movement analysis

G-WALK from BTS Bioengineering is a special wireless inertia sensor that allows clinical tests to be performed in the shortest possible time, such as "Timed Up and Go" and the "6 Minute Walking Test". It also provides the key parameters for walking, running and jumping. Such studies are essential in the rehabilitation sector, in order to quantify the effectiveness of treatments during recovery.

Ski gondolas

Without any skis or fear of heights, you can board the original Kitzbühel ski gondolas for group work.

Lecture room

Spacious "double" lecture room with a capacity for around 100 students.

We care, you succeed, join the LUNEX Experience!

LUNEX provides a modern study and research environment at the heart of Europe. Our internationally recognised programmes help our students gain qualifications and open up career paths in health, sport and management.

Cyclus2 high-performance ergometer

The Cyclus2 system acts as an ergometer for standardised testing and as a training aid for effective ergometer training and realistic competitive simulation. Equipped with state-of-the-art electronic and information technology, Cyclus2 provides opportunities for performance diagnostics and training on your own bike.

The plantar pressure distribution measurement system: FDM

The plantar pressure distribution measurement system from Zebris is a reliable and accurate device for recording static and dynamic pressure distribution when walking and standing. The application is quick and intuitive, meaning that it can be used under various measurement conditions for clinical examinations or sports performance diagnostics. The system can be used with shoes, insoles, orthotics and barefoot.

Relax area

LUNEX offers creatively designed areas that invite you to share ideas and relax.

Student advice: Orientation from A to Z

Our [Student Recruitment](https://www.lunex-university.net/contact-service/student-advice/) section will advise and liaise with you during the application phase and our Study Services section will be your point of contact while you are here studying with us.

Auditorium: A dry underwater world

The original swimming pool has been transformed into a modern auditorium while retaining its charm, through the reuse of original features, such as tiles and lamps, that were preserved. The auditorium is now used for both academic purposes, such as lectures and workshops, and student events such as film and game nights.

Biofeedback treadmill & BIODEX Gait Trainer 3

BIODEX Gati Trainer 3 is a high-end rehabilitation treadmill able, thanks to its sensorised deck to monitors and records step length, step speed and step symmetry. The patient-friendly monitor interface provides the user with a real-time visual feedback on such parameters. The Gait Trainer 3 is able to administer audio feedback as well adjusting songs cadence to the treadmill speed.

Sport and movement laboratory

LUNEX's modern facilities include a fully equipped sport and movement laboratory. Numerous measurement and analysis systems are available to students and academics for research and teaching. Various sports performance indicators and health-related parameters can be determined at a professional level.

Student kitchen

The student kitchen is a central area for students to warm food, collect coffee or cold drinks and to sit and eat their lunch in a social atmosphere.
