Small dust chamber
The dust chambers have a size of 1 m³. Possible test media (dusts) are Arizona dust, talcum powder or Portland cement. All these dusts have special properties that affect the equipment differently.
Blasting nozzle
Testing of protection against water penetration. Possible cross-sections of the blasting nozzle are 6.3 mm and 12.5 mm. Especially when there is a high need for cleaning, some localities need to be cleaned intensively. This cleaning with the hose must also withstand e.g. the housing, which is installed in such an area. This can be simulated here.
Drip unit
This test device is used for testing against the ingress of water according to IPX1 and IPX2. This can be used to simulate "light rain", for example.

In this area, the devices to be tested can be prepared in the presence of the customer, if desired. Since we also offer development-related tests, our customers have the opportunity to "touch up" here and immediately test these improvements for their effectiveness.
Large dust chamber
The large dust chamber has ground level access. The dust chamber is operated with talcum powder. The dimensions of the test chamber are 4500 mm x 3000 mm x 3000 mm (depth-width-height). Tests according to DIN EN 60529 (VDE 0470-1) can be performed.
Immersion tank
Immersion tests in the pressure vessel can simulate immersion depths of up to 50 m (50 kPa). From autonomous swimming pool cleaners to expensive wrist watches, products can be tested here.
High-pressure water testing
With this equipment, devices or components can be tested for their suitability under the influence of high pressure cleaners. These are called IPX9k tests. Water is blasted onto the equipment at high pressure to see how and if the water penetrates the inside of the enclosure.
Bow swivels
The bow swivels are part of the test equipment for proving protection against water. The bow swivels can be individually adapted to the device to be tested. A radius of up to 1600 mm can be set. The swivels are mounted above the device and rotate around the device to be tested, checking its tightness.
Proving protection against water penetration
In our test laboratory, we can perform all the tests required to obtain the IP or IK protection class according to DIN EN 60529 (VDE 0470). Exposure to water can range from a light rain shower to complete submersion. An immersion depth of up to 50 meters with the resulting increased pressure of up to 5 bar can be simulated in a pressure chamber at the VDE Institute. The ingress of dust is tested in a special dust chamber. Protection against contact is also part of the test scope. Using test probes and an internationally standardized so-called "test finger", the VDE experts test whether it is possible to touch live or insufficiently insulated parts. The risk of electric shock must be excluded. Furthermore, we check the degree of protection of the housing against harmful mechanical stress. This is then confirmed in the IK classification.
High voltage tester
Measurement of dielectric strength test up to 5 KV. The test is necessary to determine whether the penetrated water has reached live parts during the water tightness test.
Control console of the IP protection type testing system
This portable control console can be used to control the system. With this console, our testers have the possibility to "sprinkle" the test specimens without getting wet themselves.
